You may even have an opportunity to taste a few bug-like critters (no peanuts). But certainly, you will know how much calcium or iron content there is in some insects before you leave. Her bugs have traveled all over the metroplex to many schools.


June 4, 2009 Fruits, Vegetables, Herbs and Honey Sue Short - Henrietta Creek Apple Orchid Sue has been master gardener since 1999, she is the owner of Henrietta Creek Orchard, which is an 11 acre orchard that produces spring peaches, fall apples and they raise BEES too!

September 3, 2009 How invasive plant species affected avian populations and diversity in the Tandy Hills park - Tom Stevens
Ornithologist and Environmental Science graduate student at TCU

Tom has been bird watching in the Ecuadorian Amazon, north of the Arctic Circle in Canada, and in East Africa among other places. He spent a year studing the birds of Tandy Hill Park in relationship to topography and plant type. His recently acquired interest in local flora came from hanging around one of his professors, Tony Burgess, who stressed the interconnectivity of geology, soils, flora, and fauna.

Jim Martinez - Landscape Designer and Consultant
Jim has been creating water wise and environmentally friendly landscapes for over 30 years. He lives and works in both Dallas and Marfa, Texas, where he has created many gardens. Among many accolades, most recently a few of Jim’s Marfa gardens were highlighted in an article titled Desert Mystique in the April 2008 issue of Garden Design magazine.
